Apple has unveiled the next version of the ever-popular line of Mac-only Operating Systems, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. This starts a move to merge iOS and Mac OS X into one. In this version OS X includes the springboard, called “Launchpad” for OS X and a new version of the multitasking, called “Mission Control.” Of course, if you don’t want these features, the standard interface is also there. iPhoto also has the stacks from the iPad’s photo app, and all iLife apps, except iWeb and iDVD, have a fullscreen mode. Last, but not least, the App Store for Mac is included, and will also be out for Snow Leopard by October.

Lion is expected to be released Summer 2011.

Uh, no. Apple did not release 10.7. They merely demoed a few of the features. Expect it around spring of next year.
